Eczacibasi, which recalls an honorary title conferred at the turn of the century on a Turkish hospital pharmacist, is an internationally active, health-based industrial group in Turkey. The Eczacibasi Group operates in three core divisions, namely Pharmaceuticals, Building Materials, and Consumer Products. The Group is also active in capital markets, information systems, welding electrodes and foreign trade. With a history dating back to the 1940s, Eczacibasi is one of the oldest industrial groups in Turkey. Although the parent company is owned by the Eczacibasi family, four of the 35 Group companies are open to the public. Eczacibasi has a long history of international co-operation with leading international pharmaceuticals producers.
