The Embodied Robotics and Autonomy (ERA) Lab was established in August 2025 by Prof. Xiaomin Lin at the University of South Florida within the Department of Electrical Engineering, housed in the College of Engineering. The lab’s mission is to advance autonomous systems capable of operating efficiently in resource-constrained and challenging environments, from the deep ocean to agricultural fields. By integrating edge AI, multimodal perception, and robotic learning, the ERA Lab aims to enable frugal, perceptive, and resilient robots that can sense, decide, and act in real time. Guided by this vision, the ERA Lab strives to push the boundaries of sustainable autonomy, shaping the next generation of robotic systems that enhance exploration, environmental monitoring, and human-robot collaboration across domains.
