As avid sports fans, we were shocked to discover how little most teams understand about their fans. This is not because they don’t want to, but because existing customer data software simply can’t handle the complexity of their data ecosystems. Fans generate data across many different dimensions including ticketing, streaming, merchandise, concessions, donations, attending events, and beyond. All of this happens with different vendors, different data structures, and different identifiers — something that a standard CRM or customer data platform doesn’t address.
