Equal Times Information

Equal Times (2012-2025) was a trilingual (English, French and Spanish), free-to-access global news and opinion website focusing on labour, human rights, culture, development, the environment, politics and the economy from a social justice perspective. Independent and progressive, from September 2012 until its closure in December 2025, {Equal Times} sought to analyse and amplify some of the voices, experiences and viewpoints that were either under-represented or completely absent from mainstream news coverage. In a media environment that often prioritises being first over being accurate, {Equal Times} centred its work on well-researched and original journalism, produced by a global network of freelance journalists, photographers, translators and other contributors. Located in the heart of Europe, {Equal Times} was supported by the 191-million-member International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) and received additional financial support from the International Labour Organization (ILO), the European Union and other donor organisations. Its work was firmly rooted in the global movement to defend workers’ rights, to resist the attack on human rights, to protect the environment, to support sustainable, equitable development and to celebrate the diversity of world cultures.
