The Equal Justice Project is a student-run pro bono charity empowering communities to seek equal access to justice through education, service, and advocacy. It is entirely run and led by students from the University of Auckland, Faculty of Law. Our volunteers work with a range of practitioners, not-for-profit organisations, government departments, and the general public to increase access to the law. Our teams are Access, Advocacy, Alliance, Communications, Community and Pro Bono, which each perform valuable roles in the community. EJP was awarded runner-up General Club of the Year in 2014 and 2017 and was a joint winner of Best Law Club in 2023 at the University of Auckland. EJP was also awarded a Certificate of Achievement in the Mitre 10 New Zealand Community of the Year category of the 2018 New Zealander of the Year Awards. We are proudly supported by The Law Association.
