Epoch Press is an independent press dedicated to publishing exceptional creative nonfiction. We currently publish a literary journal three times a year and aspire to publish manuscripts as well. We publish writing that is thoughtful, visceral, inquisitive, and perhaps experimental. We publish work that takes a deep look at small things. We publish personal essays that evoke something thought-provoking, or unexpected, or challenging. We publish real life, well written. Truth in ink. Diversity We started Epoch Press with the guiding goal of elevating excellent creative nonfiction writing from a diverse range of voices. We enthusiastically encourage submissions from marginalised voices such as womxn, Black, Indigenous, People of Colour, LGBTQIA+ folks, older adults, under-published writers and people outside of academia. Everyone has a story to tell, and we want to read it. Fair Pay Epoch Press is committed to paying contributors, and we do not charge a reading fee for submissions. Paying contributors is a crucial tenet of our long-term plan, and we will raise the amount we pay for accepted work as our funds increase. Community Creative nonfiction is especially entangled with the society and world that inspires it. It is a priority for us to use our platform to do what we can to improve that world. As such we will be selecting up to five charities for each issue relating to either the theme or current events, and offering those organisations a full page of free advertising. In the future, we hope to donate to the selected charities as well.
