Initially operating through the University of Queensland as The Working Group for Cleaner Production, in 2013 we established The Ecoefficiency Group and began practising as an independent consulting firm. Our passion and experience working with a range of industries has made us leaders in sustainability consulting.

EcoSTEPS is a trans-disciplinary consultancy which specialises in Sustainability and Strategy projects. Led by sustainability pioneers Julian Crawford and Carole Young, we provide support and advice to a broad range of organisations across all sectors of society. Our emphasis is on sustainability training, education, practices and strategies. Our team is based in Australia and New Zealand with associates and connections throughout the World.

Clean Technology or ‘Cleantech’ is the use of technologies or processes that reduce resource consumption, climate risk or pollution and can support increased productivity and profitability. In 2010 the industries major players on the Sunshine Coast came together to promote their business and work in collaboration to make a difference. We see the words ‘cleantech’ and ‘sustainability’ as interchangeable as we work on encouraging and educating about business practices that are clean and profitable.
