EnviroSpec, Inc., is a residential and commercial inspection company that specializes in the inspection and evaluation of exterior building envelopes or claddings, including EIFS, brick, cedar, stone and stucco. As building materials become more “eco-friendly” they also become more vulnerable to damage due to moisture intrusion. The very nature of “green” construction means that these building materials are “environmentally friendly” and biodegradable. Hence, they are not as durable. This is not to say that a well constructed building can’t last for years using these materials, it simply means that they require a higher level of “maintenance” to ensure their long-term performance.
