The Greater London Authority (GLA) is the strategic authority for London, working to implement the policies of the Mayor and support the London Assembly in holding the Mayor to account. We have over 1,300 staff, headquartered at City Hall in the Royal Docks.
Some of us work directly for the Mayor or Assembly as part of the Mayor’s Office or Assembly Secretariat, though most colleagues work in one of the following directorates:
• Chief Finance Officer’s Directorate: working with the Chief Finance Officer to deliver the GLA’s financial functions.
• Communities and Skills: health, education, youth, civil society, sport, skills, employment, communities and social policy.
• Good Growth: economic development, culture and creative industries, transport infrastructure, planning, regeneration, environment and energy.
• Housing and Land: property, Royal Docks development, housing, investment and building safety.
• Resource and Business Improvement: digital, People Function and facilities.
• Strategy and Communications: resilience, public affairs and strategic partnerships, external relation and strategy, insight and intelligence.
The GLA is part of the GLA Group, which includes Transport for London, the London Fire Brigade and the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime.
We know London’s diversity is its biggest asset. That’s why we do all we can to reflect this at all levels of the organisation. We welcome applications from everyone.
