ENSTA Information

Under the supervision of the French Ministry of the Armed Forces and the oldest institute of engineering in France, ENSTA is a leading public institution of higher education and research, with EPSCP-GE status, and a founding member of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris. Since January 1, 2025, the institute has been the result of the merger of ENSTA Paris and ENSTA Bretagne. On its 2 campuses in Paris-Saclay (Palaiseau) and Brest, it brings together over 2,000 students, 200 teacher-researchers, 300 PhD students, 9 research laboratories and some thirty joint chairs and laboratories. Together, its alumni communities form a vast network of nearly 20,000 alumni. At the crossroads of multiple engineering disciplines, enhanced by digital technology, ENSTA conducts top-level research and innovation, and offers degree courses, 3-year engineering cycles with student and apprentice status, masters, doctorates and Specialized Masters. Its scientific and technical excellence informs and shapes major transformations in areas of sovereignty: transport and mobility, sustainable energies, defense and security, marine engineering, digital technology, environmental knowledge, space and healthcare engineering. Since 1741 this institution embodies audacity through its great advances.
