When Jacobson & Company was established by Gustave Jacobson in 1889, it specialized in ornamental plaster contracting, working on iconic projects such as the Presidential Palace in Cuba, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Hearst Castle. The company began offering acoustical ceiling products in the 1940s and drywall projects in the 1990s.
