ENGLISHTOWN MANALAPAN TWP FIRST AID SQUAD Information

WMEMS was created to support the volunteer first aid squad with its increasing costs of providing emergency medical services to our community. In addition WMEMS within the next few months will provide periderm Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) to assist staffing our ambulances especially during the daytime hours where volunteer members are not available. WMEMS will also relieve our governing bodies from costs that they were paying to support our volunteer first aid squad; these cost savings are estimated to be in the neighborhood of $250,000.00 per year. These costs include new ambulances, vehicle insurance, annual donation and funding of the volunteer squad's LOSAP program. WMEMS will also increase the level of services provided by our emergency medical services team in the areas of enhanced training, reduced response times and providing high quality emergency medical services to our community. New changes that you will notice as a patient of our emergency services team are computer based patient care reports. We have replaced paper run sheets with computerized run sheets. Our crews will be asking for your insurance information for the billing aspect of our service. All of the information provided to the crews and WMEMS are protected under the various HIPPA regulations. If insurance information is not available at the time of your emergency our billing provider will reach out to you for that information. WMEMS will accept assignment from the insurance companies and does not seek to impose any financial hardship among our community members. The Englishtown Manalapan First Aid Squad continues to remain a volunteer agency; members do not receive any financial compensation for their work with the first aid squad.
