Attrition is a problem. It’s a problem for our Universities, our other learning institutions, and above all, it’s a problem for the students themselves and their communities. In a majority of instances, the students who are affected come from backgrounds that are classified as disadvantaged. Although attrition is a complex, multi-faceted problem, we believe that by giving students the right tools, mindset and resilience we can not only improve their learning outcomes but also have a positive flow on to their post studies working lives. Imagine a world where all students start their higher education studies understanding HOW and WHAT to learn, feeling CONFIDENT and MOTIVATED, ENGAGED and RESILIENT when it comes to setbacks in their studies and in their personal lives. We empower matured aged, part time students to succeed in their studies and create positive impact within their communities. 1. Address the equity gap keeping students as central We do this by: * Honoring and supporting their conscious commitment to study and changing their future * Building confidence and self-belief for better informed decisions * Improving resilience and graduation rates 2. Reduce dropout rates by addressing areas personal to the student We do this by: * Supporting and engaging regardless of location, incorporating peer community connections * Investing on retention rather than replacement * Partnering with Universities to enhance community 3. Elevated student outcomes through a holistic life approach to study We do this by: * Self-paced and community learning enabling network development before they start studying * Realistic and relatable approach that is individualised to their situation * Providing access to professional mentoring and coaching
