EnergyIN Information

The terms "Association PCTE - Competitiveness aqnd Technology Cluster for Energyand "EnergyIN " are, respectively, the official designation and the brand name of the association. Is a non-profit Association, founded by some of the major companies in the energy sector (EDP, EFACEC, and GALP ENERGIA MARTIFER) and the MIT PORTUGAL programme, to cooperate with business and scientific communities to boost the competitiveness of this sector of national industry, thus creating wealth and skilled employment in Portugal. The strategic plan initially set by the founding partners of EnergyIN was recognized by QREN-(Structural Funds) as a "Collective Efficiency Strategy", therefore initiating a partnership between the Association and QREN, that co-finances some of the operating expenses of EnergyIN. This partnership relation with the QREN has two other effects: EnergyIN must participate in the definition of the types of projects identified as priorities in the context of open calls for the QREN and, in many cases, the subsidies allocated to projects will receive a bonus if the Cluster recognizes that the objectives of these projects are aligned with the objectives of the Pole.
