Founded in 2012, Energy Sense Finance (ESF) was created to address the valuation opportunity for solar and renewable energy in high performance residential and commercial properties. In late 2016, the company released Ei Value® (https://www.eivalue.com/), a valuation platform geared specifically for appraisers. Later versions will be available for Realtors®, solar installers and other industry professionals. This tool embraces innovative valuation, data set and analytics solutions for solar PV and high performance homes. ESF’s founder and CEO, Jamie Johnson, established the original PV Value® concept in 2009, and continued innovation led to the creation of Ei Value®. Ei Value® is a FREE, USPAP compliant valuation platform that helps appraisers develop the value that solar PV adds to a residential or commercial building, utilizing the appraisal industry's income and cost approaches. It's utilized in all 50 states along with D.C. & PR, and has become the standard valuation tool within the real estate professional community. By providing the Ei Value® platform to Realtors®, appraisers and mortgage underwriters nationwide, the goal is to enable the added market value of solar PV and other high performance improvements, increasing access to low cost financing vehicles such as the Fannie Mae HomeStyle Energy Mortgage along with the FHA Solar & Wind Technology Mortgage.
