ESP Utilities Group can trace its roots to 1999 when the business was formed to concentrate mainly on gas infill projects - bringing mains gas supplies to areas, both rural and urban, which had previously not had the opportunity to connect to the national network. In 2005, the company purchased the British Gas Connections business (now ESP Connections) which increased the number of homes and businesses the company served. The business continued to grow, rapidly establishing itself as a key player in this competitive market. To better meet the needs of new housing developers, ESP Electricity started operating in 2008 to develop and operate electricity networks. ESP Utilities is wholly owned by Eiser Infratructure, whose international portfolio has a combined enterprise value exceeding ¬3billion.
