Enerco Energy Inc. is established in 16.04.2004 for the purpose of Import and Wholesale of Natural Gas in Turkey 60% of ENERCO belongs to Akfel Group which is active on engineering, construction, equipment production and supply, and consultancy in Turkish Natural Gas Market more than ten years, wheras 40% belongs to OMV Gas & Power GmbH based in Vienna Austria. OMV Gas & Power with the business units Gas Supply, Marketing & Trading (with the subsidiaries EconGas and Petrom's gas activities), Gas Logistics (with the subsidiaries OMV Gas, Nabucco Gas Pipeline International, Adria LNG, Gate terminal in Rotterdam) and the Central European Gas Hub is one of the leading gas trading and logistics companies in Central Europe. As a result of the ‘Contract Release Tender' held by BOTAŞ on November 2005; for the transfer of 4bcm Gazprom Export contract dated 18.02.1998 to new importers; in accordance with the provisions of Natural Gas Market Law 4646 Temporary Article 2; Enerco is awarded for 2,5 bcm/year of gas contract. Enerco signed the natural gas purchase and sales contract with Gazprom Export on September 2007 and by the Import License granted by EMRA on 31.12.2008 and by finalization of contract release process on 17.03.2009 Enerco is awarded to import and wholesale 2,5 bcm natural gas (approximately 26,6 kWh) annually until 2022.
