Endourage is a Denver-based biotech company focused on creating tools to modulate the endocannabinoid system through safe and effective therapeutics for use as adjunctive therapy by health care providers.The ECS is highly conserved in evolution. It includes the largest collection of neurotransmitters and receptors that are densely packed throughout our brains and bodies. It is a “command and control” system which regulates and controls our most critical bodily functions such as learning and memory, emotional processing, sleep, temperature control, pain control, inflammatory and immune responses, and eating. This ubiquitous lipid signaling system appeared early in evolution in all vertebrates. Endocannabinoids bind to a family of G-protein-coupled receptors. The cannabinoid CB(1) receptor is densely distributed in areas of the brain related to motor control, cognition, emotional responses, motivated behavior and homeostasis. Outside the brain, the cannabinoid CB(2) receptor is a crucial modulators of the autonomic nervous system, the immune system and microcirculation.
