Encore Experiences Information

Encore Experiences at Harleysville, established in 1975, and the PEAK Center in Lansdale, established in 1974, merged July 2013 to become Greater Harleysville and North Penn Services (GHNPSS). Our goal is to promote the well-being of senior citizens age 55 and older. GHNPSS is a private non-profit 501(c)3 agency. Our mission is to provide access to programs and resources that help older adults live independently and remain active. Each organization brought unique strengths and expertise to this merger. As a combined organization we strive to standardize the level of services offered over a larger region. The PEAK Center was among the first to become accredited by the National Institute for Senior Centers. In February of 2010, Encore Experiences also became accredited. We are currently in the re-accreditation process for both locations to ensure or organization meets the highest standards. In 2012 Encore Experiences was named "Research Partner" by the TCC Group to develop a product that measures senior center program outcomes and recommends program changes to improve those outcomes. The PEAK Center brought with it a partnership in the collaboration to create North Penn Commons (NPC). NPC is a collaboration between the senior center, Manna on Main Street (the local food pantry), the North Penn YMCA, and Advanced Living. We anticipate moving into NPC the summer of 2015. Our entire organization has grown and improved significantly over the last few years and we have truly become a leader in our field. In addition to serving more people, we are constantly adapting our services to meet ongoing and new requests and needs of our community. Both locations offer access to our meal program, fitness and wellness programs, information, assistance, and referral services, and life-long learning opportunities.
