This network makes possible the secure electronic exchange of new prescription and renewal information between physicians and pharmacists. SureScripts does not develop, sell or endorse specific electronic prescribing software. Instead, SureScripts works with existing pharmacy and physician technology vendors to connect their solutions to the SureScripts network. eMPOWERx's recognition as a SureScripts Certified Solution™ comes as the result of a significant certification process to ensure that it meets the standards of connecting to the SureScripts network. Technology vendors must complete a comprehensive certification process to become a SureScripts Certified Solution Provider™. SureScripts establishes ground rules that safeguard the fairness of the prescribing process, including ensuring the patients choice of pharmacy, the physicians choice of therapy, and prescribing decisions based on best medical practices.
