I love this community and I truly believe that every family that I serve has the capacity to make Acadiana better. I graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2006, with my bachelors degree in Child and Family Studies. I completed my masters degree in human services with Specialization in Marriage and Family, in 2017. Upon obtaining my masters degree, I became a certified Marriage Enrichment Facilitator using the Prepare and Enrich and SYMBIS curriculum. My husband and I founded The Family Connection Inc. in April 2018. The Family Connection Inc. is a non-profit that offers life skills, counseling services, transitional housing services, educational development, and career guidance for older foster care youth. Our passion is to reach families and assist them in reaching their full potential. I was honored as one of Acadiana's top 20 under 40 young leaders in 2018. I am actively involved in my community and enjoy seeing relationships prosper. I am a part of The Social Service Agency Network, Connections Women's Professional Network, Arch (Acadiana Region Coalition on Homelessness), the planning committee for the UL Women's Leadership Conference as well as a Member Engagement committe member for the UL Christiana Smith African-American Alumni Chapter. I am the owner and founder of Empowered with Purpose LLC. I specialize in marriage and family consulting and public speaking. As an author and speaker, my mission in life is to help people recognize their strengths and utilize them, in every aspect of relationships .
