DSA was established in 1957, when a group of likeminded families banded together to provide employment opportunities for their children, after
they had completed school.
Today, our vision remains consistent with the vision of those founding families – a life of choice and inclusion for all.
DSA has grown to be one of the largest values-based disability service organisations in NSW, employing over 1800 people.
Nurturing Support Psychology and Play Therapy provides a range of therapy services for children and their parents/carers.
As our name suggests, we aim to provide a supportive and nurturing environment in which to assist children and families to work through their issues, learn about themselves and work toward reaching their full potential.
We specialise in engaging children with the modality of Play Therapy, in which children use play to express themselves and explore their underlying issues. Children can often struggle to articulate their experiences with words, but through play, they can share their inner world, thoughts and feelings and make meaning of their experiences. Play Therapy is best suited to children aged 2-12 years and is appropriate for a range of presenting issues including anxiety/depression, trauma, emotional/behavioural concerns, autism, ADHD and school refusal.
At Nurturing Support Psychology and Play Therapy, we aspire to provide therapeutic services which best suits the needs of each individual and family and recognise there is no ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach to therapy. We are committed to listening to you and working with you to ensure you’re getting the best support to be able to reach your goals. After all, the most important person in the therapeutic relationship is YOU!
