Back in 1984 the company Empire Import & Export was founded by Jan Boutmy. After a visit to the Olympics in L.A he made a stop on his way back to Curacao to visit a friend in Haiti. This friend was founder and owner of a large cap manufacturer in Haiti, called Empire sporting goods. He needed a new market, and asked Jan Boutmy if he was interested in selling caps on the Island Curacao. It was a success and he soled 40.000 caps the first year. After seven years of expanding, Rene Boutmy joined the company. From that year Empire became a family company. In 1997 Rene Boutmy officially became the CEO of Empire Import & Export N.V. Empire is a member of the PPAI and ASI supplier network. This network makes it possible to provide a wide range of promotional products.
