The Emory Prevention Research Center (EPRC) is a collaboration between the Southwest Georgia Cancer Coalition and the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University. The EPRC conducts research on cancer prevention and promotes evidence-based cancer prevention and control in southwest Georgia. The EPRC focuses on community-based cancer prevention and reducing health disparities in the rural communities of Southwest Georgia. The main behavioral focus for the EPRC is primary prevention, and more specifically reducing health risks related to tobacco, physical activity, and nutrition; including reduction of overweight/obesity. Our community partners helped us develop these themes, which are founded upon public health data as well as recommendations from key government and health agencies.
