eMithilaHaat has been set up with a sole aim of helping the artisans of Mithilanchal to provide a marketplace to show off and sell their work of art. Mithila Painting also known as Madhubani Painting, is a folk art of Mithilanchal (Madhubani and surrounding areas). This art has been in existence since Treta Yuga. The holy book Ramayana says that these paintings were made on walls of every nook and corner of Mithilanchal during the Ram and Sita marriage. Later on these paintings got inherited by the coming generations. Mithila painting is about to die because of the tough financial condition of artisans. Our mission is to support the artisans and provide them a channel through which they can showcase and sell their work of art.
