Emcor was founded in 1979 to provide risk management consulting services to multinational corporations and institutions, focusing on the applications and use of derivatives securities to hedge foreign currency exposures and in asset/liability management. Among other accomplishments, our firm pioneered the application of Value-at-Risk methodology ("VAR") to multinational corporations, and of comprehensive risk management strategies for the energy price exposures of corporate users. Since the early 1990s, Emcor has applied its experience at analyzing and solving complex financial issues for its clients to the process of evaluating hedge fund strategies and the development of private-label investment products, utilizing alternative investments as the generator of differentiating returns. Financial risk assessment and the development of liability management and customized asset allocation strategies are our principal activities today. We have in-depth knowledge of asset and liability management, derivative products, and their application to investments as well as corporate strategies.
