EMBRC is a research infrastructure that accelerates marine biology and ecology research in Europe. Through a network of 80+ marine sites in Europe, we provide access to biodiversity and ecosystems, services and expertise in marine science to help researchers from academia and industry study the ocean and speed up discoveries. Our work helps develop innovative solutions for the environment and the sustainable blue economy. EMBRC fills gaps in ocean observation data through the EMO BON’s observatory. Part of the UN Ocean Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development, this EMBRC’s initiative is the first coordinated long-term genomic biodiversity observatory in Europe that studies marine life using DNA techniques. In the face of global environmental challenges, EMBRC supports science-based decision-making and biodiversity management policies for a more sustainable future. The organisation operates under the legal status of a European Research Infrastructure Consortium (ERIC), granted by the European Commission. Join our community to get the latest updates on our research & innovation projects and partnerships in Europe and beyond.
