EMBRC (European Marine Biological Resource Centre) is a research infrastructure that aims to advance knowledge of marine biodiversity and ecosystems and foster sustainability in research and economy. We give access to research services, resources and expertise in marine biology and ecology through a network of marine stations across Europe to support science and innovation in Europe and beyond. EMBRC created EMO BON (European Marine Omics Biodiversity Observation Network), he first coordinated long-term genomic biodiversity observatory in European. This project uses eDNA methods to explore the ocean and understand its biodiversity, and contributes to the global ocean observation network and the UN Ocean Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (OBON programme). In the face of global environmental challenges, EMBRC supports global science-based decision-making as it gathers scientists, industries, and policymakers towards sustainability worldwide. EMBRC was granted the status of European Research Infrastructure Consortium (ERIC) by the European Commission in 2018.
