Avery Healthcare is an award-winning national care home provider with a current portfolio of 102 care homes nationwide, with more new developments in build.
Avery’s philosophy is to give each resident a home and lifestyle that supports their need for care and safety, along with their cherished goals and aspirations. Residents’ well-being and quality of life are more than just the care they receive, the relationships they develop, their surroundings, interests, and overall stimulation level. Holistic programmes promote a sense of well-being for all and enable residents to live in a safe and supportive environment allowing them to flourish, make new friends, maintain contact with their local communities and live a life of possibility.
The Orders of St John Care Trust (OSJCT) is a leading not-for-profit charitable trust providing trusted care, support, and housing for older people and those with learning disabilities.
In February 2024, OSJCT merged with The Fremantle Trust, uniting our teams to provide high-quality, compassionate care together. On 1 September 2025, colleagues and services in Buckinghamshire officially transferred into OSJCT. This brought more than 1,300 colleagues into our Trust and expanded our services to include learning disability support alongside our established older people’s care.
Today, OSJCT supports over 4,000 people and employs more than 6,000 staff across:
- 75 care homes
- 8 extra care housing schemes
- 16 learning disability services (5 residential and 11 supported living)
We operate across Buckinghamshire, Gloucestershire, Lincolnshire, Oxfordshire, Suffolk, West Sussex, and Wiltshire.
Our offering includes specialised dementia care, intermediate care, respite, day care, expert nursing, and dedicated services for people with learning disabilities. We are proud to have been among the first care providers to employ our own Admiral Nurses.
As a not-for-profit organisation, any financial surplus is reinvested to benefit our residents and service users. Our ethos is built on the belief that every person should enjoy life in an atmosphere of warmth, harmony, and understanding, with care that respects their dignity, privacy, and freedom of choice.
The quality of our services has been accredited by the National Care Forum through its “Quality First” framework.
