My name is Chris Heap, founder of Ellison Advisory. I've spent over twenty years working in senior growth & strategy positions for management consulting and technology companies including PwC, PA Consulting, Capgemini and Microsoft, helping client businesses grow from scale-ups finding their first momentum to FTSE-250 enterprises reshaping how they go to market. I have carried full commercial ownership of the number, the team and the responsibility for making growth happen. What I've learned is that growth is rarely a strategy problem. The strategy is the (relatively) easy part. The hard part is people: aligning them, building the right team and creating the conditions where good ideas survive contact with an organisation. That thread runs through everything I've done: building practices and propositions from scratch, taking them to market and leading teams through the messy middle of transformation. Today I work on a portfolio basis, a small number of engagements at once: 1. Fractional growth or commercial leader, owning the top line for businesses needing senior firepower; 2. Fractional chief of staff or interim leader, helping founders build the operational spine to scale; 3. Non-executive or advisor, where two decades of board experience are most useful a step back from the day-to-day. Alongside this, I'm building Applied Emotions (www.appliedemotions.com), from a conviction the market is only now catching up to: the hardest part of AI isn't the technology, it's the human side. Adoption stalls not on capability but on trust, alignment and culture. We use forty years of human-values data to help businesses align their people, their AI, their brand and their customers around what matters. It's an early stage venture and it's the most interesting problem I've worked on for sometime.
