The creator of Ella Poe, DANIELLE BIRRITTELLA, was born on an ashram to American entrepreneur parents and was given the name Mahashakti, after the Hindu deity. With one foot in the world of Eastern mysticism and the other in Western minimalism, she designs from a unique bridge spanning the two worlds. Danielle began making jewelry in 2005 by selling one-of-a-kind pieces at private trunk shows in Aspen, Austin, Chicago, Los Angeles, and New York. Ella Poe organically planted its roots there and has been growing ever since. Ella Poe's debut line, The Constellations, was created to honor Danielle's father who taught her about astronomy and astrology as a child. Her goal was to create objects that could effortlessly reflect the gravity of the stars. Fascinated by the ritual of adornment and its contribution to cultural history, Danielle has studied jewelry traditions in Turkey, Romania, Italy, India and Latin America. Her artistic soul has led her to concurrently pursue classical training as an opera singer and performer whilst crafting collections that invite the wearer to transcend beyond jewelry for beauty's sake and delve deeper into mysticism, meaning, and ritual. Danielle and her namesake jewelry line have been featured in Elle, Vogue, InStyle, and Lucky Magazines. Her pieces have been worn on celebrities ranging from Cindy Crawford to January Jones. Ella Poe is based in Venice, California and is inspired from all corners of the globe.
