We envision a future where violence is replaced by compassion, understanding, and healing. Our healing garden will stand as a symbol of hope; a place where survivors find solace and strength in their journey to reclaim their lives. By offering support, resources, and a nurturing environment, we strive to build a community that rejects violence and promotes empathy, fostering a world where every individual can thrive without fear. Our intentional healing garden design process will be centered around transforming a former Winchester Repeating Arms machine gun test firing range into a healing garden. In addition to being a welcoming garden for the public, Eli’s Garden of Healing produces and supports a range of violence healing and prevention programs. We welcome the opportunity to partner and engage with other local community groups and nonprofits. This nonprofit is founded in honor of 15-year-old Elijah Gomez, who was murdered while walking home from high school on the Farmington Canal Trail in Hamden, CT on May 9, 2022.
