ELIN-UNION AG für elektrische Industrie was an Austrian company for hydro-electric power generation, created in 1959 by the merger of ELIN Aktiengesellschaft für elektrische Industrie and AEG. ELIN power plants have formed the base of Austria's renewable power generation and have been exported worldwide. In the 1990s, ELIN was merged into VA Tech (Austria's largest technology corporation), which was later sold to Siemens and the hydro power division to Andritz.
