ELGL Information

ELGL is an unapologetically joyful volunteer-run, membership-based nonprofit organization with a mission to engage the brightest minds in local government. Since its founding in 2012, ELGL has grown into a network of hundreds of local government practitioners and professionals across the United States representing cities, towns, counties, special districts, and local government-adjacent nonprofits, academic institutions, and private sector groups, and other allied sectors. As a big-tent organization working across silos, our membership spans a wide range of local government roles — from students/interns, analysts, planners, innovators, and directors to city managers — making it uniquely representative of the local government workforce. ELGL provides timely and relevant content through podcasts, blogs, social media, and events that foster authentic and meaningful connections grounded in equity and inclusion. We are driven to make local government better by focusing on people, not titles.
