Der Deutsche Alpenverein e. V. (DAV) ist mit über 1,5 Mio. Mitgliedern der weltweit größte Bergsportverband und einer der größten deutschen Naturschutzverbände. Der DAV gliedert sich in 356 Sektionen in vielen Städten und Regionen Deutschlands, die Bundesgeschäftsstelle hat ihren Sitz in München. Der DAV ist so vielfältig wie unsere moderne Gesellschaft. Seine Mitglieder verbindet die Freude an der Bewegung in der Natur, die Lust auf Berg- und Gipfelerlebnisse sowie der Wunsch und die Verpflichtung, die einzigartige Natur der Berge zu erhalten und für kommende Generationen zu bewahren. In der Jugend des Deutschen Alpenvereins (JDAV) sind zudem alle Jugendlichen bis 27 Jahre organisiert. Sie vertritt insbesondere die Interessen der jungen Generation und stellt Bildungs- und Freizeitangebote für Kinder und Jugendliche zur Verfügung.
