The Electricity and Gas Complaints Commissioner Scheme is a free and independent service for resolving complaints about New Zealand electricity and gas companies. The Scheme was approved on 1 April 2010. Membership is compulsory for electricity and gas companies, unless the Minister of Consumer Affairs grants an exemption. The Scheme can only look at complaints about member companies.
