El-Electric Information

El-Electric was established soon after World War II and began manufacturing low voltage fluorescent lighting for shop window displays in the inner city suburbs of Melbourne. El-Electric began manufacturing in a back yard in Pascoe Vale followed by Brighton. From there to a garage in Ferny Creek (Dandenong Ranges) in 1958 and then to our first factory in Ferntree Gully in 1965. In 1999 the business was expanded and moved to Beenleigh, Queensland and is still there today. Over the years we have supplied all the major electrical wholesalers and lighting stores across Australia. For example our partnership with Lawrence and Hanson stretches back to the mid 50's as can be seen in their early catalogues, when they had only 16 stores Australia wide. They now have over 180 outlets across Australia. Today the company remains an Australian owned family business of three generations and continues its policy of incorporating the best quality materials in manufacture, to ensure consumers will benefit from the long life and economy of operation that they expect from El-Electric circular fluorescent light fittings.
