Founded during the perestroika, Echo became the first media outlet to cover the political turmoil of 1991, and later evolved from a tiny studio with few employees into a large for-profit company. Today, Echo of Moscow is not only a 24/7 radio, but also a flourishing news-opinion-discussion internet portal, and is present in all major social networks.
