Ehdo Architecture Information

Our practice at EHDO is an engagement with creative people, who seek to find a balance between making something wonderful and the act of doing this responsibly. This understanding of conscientious building and design is a critical aspect of EHDO's practice and informs our work whether it be a school, office or home; or whether its rural or an urban infill site. EHDO was founded in the 1970s as Earth Builders, a pioneering rammed earth construction company, by artist and building industry innovator Giles Hohnen. By the early 1990s the business had evolved into a design focused company called Earth House. Giles is celebrated for his ground breaking approach to ethical building and design. EHDO works closely with clients and a consultant team to make a positive contribution to building, with work processes that places equal value on environmental, social and economic outcome. Our team is well positioned to service a range of project types including multi-residential, mixed use and small scale public buildings.
