Founded in 1938, Egyptian Metal Works is the oldest and largest private sector company specializing in Copper. Since the operation of our first SMS Schloemann extrusion press in the early 1980's. The company began to specialize in copper and brass semi-finished products, mainly wires, bars, tubes and flat bars. In 2007, EMW installed a second extrusion press from Presezzi and began on a plan for modernizing the company's brass bars production facilities, replacing our vertical casting facilities with horizontal continuous casting for brass billets, and our old chain draw-benches with modern combined drawing and straightening machines with inline chamfering. Furthermore, EMW invested in a production line for copper and brass long tubes by adding two chain draw-benches, straighting machines, and annealing furnace.
