Edugist® Information

Edugist® is Africa’s pioneering education-focused newsroom and innovation lab — telling the untold stories of learning, teaching, and reform across the continent, sharing scholarship opportunities, and connecting Africa to global education conversation. We report, analyse, and innovate at the intersection of education, media, and technology, spotlighting voices, solutions, and systems shaping the future of learning in Africa and beyond. As a newsroom, Edugist delivers deeply researched, human-centered journalism - covering education policy, equity, innovation, and impact from classrooms to communities. Our storytelling amplifies underreported perspectives - teachers, students, parents, reformers, and everyday changemakers driving transformation across Africa’s learning ecosystems. As a lab, we design and deploy experimental projects and digital tools — from safety reporting platforms and learning analytics to school selection platform for parents, students’ startups incubation, storytelling accelerators, a dedicated jobs and events board — that enhance transparency, participation, and accountability in education. Founded by Elvis Boniface, media innovator, researcher, and education reform advocate, Edugist has become a global model for dedicated, expert, and contextually grounded education journalism. From Qatar to France, Hong Kong, Mexico, United Kingdom, and Dubai, we’ve reported from major international education and innovation events, to bring context, insights, and opportunities to our African audience. In essence, Edugist is not just a media platform. It’s an education solutions ecosystem. It complements the work of policymakers, funders, and researchers by ensuring that data, stories, and human realities drive decisions and inspire action. JOIN THE MOVEMENT! Enquiries: Info@edugist.org
