A história da FTD Educação começa em 1902, com os Irmãos Maristas que já dirigiam colégios no Brasil. Para manter uma Educação de qualidade, foram desenvolvidos conteúdos didáticos que deram origem a primeira Coleção de Livros Didáticos FTD. O nome FTD Educação é uma homenagem a Frère Théophane Durand, que foi Superior Geral da Congregação Marista entre 1883 e 1907. Com mais de 120 anos de trabalho, a FTD Educação entende que sua atuação ultrapassa a produção de livros e enxerga o ato de educar como algo que inspira descoberta, escolha, liberdade e cidadania.
