Edge Embossing uses proprietary soft embossing technology to manufacture microstructured plastic parts for microfluidics, MEMS, and microbiology applications. We offer a range of services that span all the stages of microfluidic device development. For early-stage projects, we offer microfluidic design expertise to help you find the right device geometry and materials to enable your application. For projects in which the design is already under development or finalized, we offer the ability to transition your design to the appropriate plastic. We can even incorporate your microfabricated elements, such as silicon, glass or SU8 microstructures, directly into the embossing master for reproduction in plastic. When you advance to the testing phase, we offer device integration abilities, such as producing plastic manifolds for your devices or incorporating interconnects, such as threaded ports, directly into your devices. Finally, when you're ready for manufacturing, we can run low volumes up to high volumes with tight tolerances. Edge Embossing's specialty is soft embossing of microwells, micropillars, and microarrays in plastic. If you have an existing microfabricated device, we can convert it to plastic or we can get a master structure microfabricated for you. Either way, there is no cheaper or easier way to get microwells or micropillars in plastic. Pillars and wells can be as small as 1 μm diameter and have an aspect ratio (depth:diameter) of 5:1 or more.
