The company was founded by local mechanic and businessman, Eddy Smith as a mobile mechanical repair service, catering to farmers and the forestry industry in the local area. Over several years Eddy's customer base had grown to the point that he was able to establish a permanant place of business and Eddy Smith Engineering grew into a well known and respected engineering and manufacturing company.
