Current data shows the soring challenge for parents. On average daily screen time usage of teens now exceeds 8 hours and kids between the ages 8-12 years at over 5 hours. Almost half of this online time is spent on social media platforms. With only restrictive screen time management tools available, parent of three Mark Morcos wanted to find a positive and more meaningful approach to helping parents manage online screen time. During his research he recognised how familiar we all are with advertising breaks on TV and that kids freely accepted ad break interruptions while watching social media content. He saw an opportunity to combine this familiarity with ad breaks and daily online activity to create a positive force for good. He created and developed Ed-Break. A patent pending educational screen time management solution that regularly interrupts kids online screen time with personalised curriculum aligned content.
