Ecovaleric Information

Ecovaleric is developing electrochemical manufacturing of bio-based chemicals and materials. Our first product is gamma-valerolactone (GVL), a bio-based, biodegradable dipolar aprotic solvent and chemical intermediate with established commercial uses. Its strong solvency, favorable processing properties, and differentiated toxicity and regulatory profile make it relevant to a broad range of industrial and specialty applications. At the core of our manufacturing platform is 4-hydroxyvaleric acid (HVA), a versatile C5 building block for GVL and additional chemicals and materials, including specialty chemicals, biodegradable polymers, and fuel additives.
