Under Royal Decree N° (A/19) issued on 25 February 2010 the Economic Cities Authority (ECA) was established. The ECA has been given full administrative responsibilities for the development and oversight of the Economic Cities ; therefore, the ECA will play several roles in order to protect the competitiveness, efficiency, and uniqueness of these substantial projects as well as to avoid complex and bureaucratic routines that may delay or obstruct the flow of business and it addresses the strategy and unique prospects of the Economic Cities in order to ensure that they truly embody an ideal investment environment capable of supporting and contributing to the progress and growth of the Saudi economy. The Economic Cities regulatory framework adheres as well to the values and common morals of the Kingdom.
