Folklore is a storytelling studio that preserves a person's life in forms that can be experienced across generations. We combine filmmaking, long-form interview, and AI to create two artifacts. The first is a Folklore Film, a 15 to 20 minute cinematic portrait distilled from a full day of conversation. The second is a Portrait, an interactive reflection of the person that answers questions in their own words and voice. A grandson can ask his grandmother's Portrait what her wedding day was like and hear her tell the story herself. The film introduces the person. The Portrait continues the conversation. Over time, a family's photographs, home video, and new memories gather around both in a living archive.
