The Y is Seattle’s founding nonprofit organization, offering health, hope, and opportunity. The mission of the Y is to build a community where all people, especially the young, are encouraged to develop their fullest potential in spirit, mind and body. We are an inclusive organization of men, women and children with a shared commitment to nurture the potential of youth, promote healthy living, and foster social responsibility. At the Y, strengthening community is our cause. We work side-by-side with our neighbors throughout King and south Snohomish counties to help kids and families thrive – and apply their positive behaviors and goals at home, school, the workplace, and beyond at our 13 branches, 2 overnight camps, 10 swimming pools, and more than 200 program sites.

Hopelink is a nonprofit organization working to end poverty in our community. Each year we help more than 64,000 low-income people through programs that provide stability and the skills and knowledge needed to exit poverty. Since 1971, Hopelink has provided stability-building programs for people experiencing poverty, immigrants and refugees, and people with disabilities in North and East King County. The agency’s programs work in tandem to fill gaps, supporting each family or individual’s unique needs. These include food assistance, energy assistance, financial assistance, housing with case management, mobility management, non-emergency medical transportation, Dial-a-Ride Transit (DART), English for work, family development, and financial capabilities. Hopelink is based in Redmond, Washington, with service centers and food markets in Bellevue, Kirkland, Redmond, Sno-Valley (Carnation) and Shoreline. In addition to ongoing programs and services, Hopelink also manages several campaigns specifically geared toward helping children: End Summer Hunger helps ensure that kids on summer break have enough to eat when their school's free and reduced fee meals are not available; Kids Need School Supplies provides backpacks and back-to-school tools for kids in low-income families; and Lend a Hoping Hand provides holiday support. Annual events include Hopelink Can Madness -- a bracketed tournament between local businesses to help stock food banks following the holidays; Farm Fresh Feast, Hopelink Neighborhood Fair, and Reaching Out Celebration at Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue. Every year, nearly 4,000 volunteers donate over 62,000 hours; helping people and changing lives.
