The radiologic technology certificate based program offered by the Ohio Valley Medical Center has affiliations with Belmont College, West Virginia Northern Community College and East Ohio Regional Hospital. The program's mission is dedicated to providing learning experiences that will enable each student to deliver quality health care, understand the values and behavior of the profession and develop communication and independent reasoning in preparation as entry level radiographers. Ohio Valley Medical Center's Program of Radiologic Technology was established in 1954, in cooperation with the Advisory Council of the American College of Radiology. The program is currently accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology and the West Virginia Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners. Ohio Valley Medical Center's commitment to "provide quality, compassionate, and state-of-the-art family-centered, health care, while promoting education and wellness" guides the mission of the program of radiologic technology. The administration and faculty of Ohio Valley Medical Center's Program of Radiologic Technology are dedicated to providing students with a high quality, competency-based, clinical and didactic education in preparation for the entry-level job market in diagnostic radiology. The 24-month hospital-based program consistently monitors and evaluates each student's affective, cognitive, and psychomotor abilities in the didactic and clinical setting to assure the student maintains his/her goals of attaining a quality education and becoming a professional with a career in radiology. Each student is offered the opportunity to meet all didactic, clinical, and attendance requirements necessary for graduation, which qualifies the student for the national registry, offered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
