Earn The Day Information

Earn the Day is a Bay Area-based 501(c)(3) non-profit charity organization. We created it to build a trend of achievement within our communitys deserving youth, by rewarding personal improvement with uncommon and exciting outdoor experiences. Our group was first created in memory of a friend who was lost in the ocean. While the initial aim was to teach children ocean safety skills, our mission has grown to be much more. With our partners at the Boys & Girls Club of San Francisco we created a mentorship program for our city's most deserving youth. Each child and their mentor work together to create goals and work together on achieving these goals. Every three months these kids are rewarded with an outdoor event that will expose them to unique experiences that they normally would not be able to enjoy. It is our sincere belief that teaching children to set and attain goals will lead to greater success in their future. On September 30, we partnered with Big Dog Surf Camp, Surfrider Foundation, and Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco. We took twenty kids out for a day of surf and ocean safety instruction. In April of 2015, a group of kids from the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco joined us for a day on a catamaran across San Francisco bay. We saw Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge up close. In October of 2016, Fire Station 7 in San Francisco's Mission neighborhood hosted a group from the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco for a day full of fire safety instruction, demonstrations, and plastic hats. In July 2017 Earn the Day brought the Zoo to the Boys & Girls Clubs of of San Francisco Clubhouse, and mentees had the opportunity to see and pet all types of animals. We rely on the contributions of corporations and individuals who believe that everybody deserves to be rewarded for their effort.
